The development company, which Fulton County property records show acquired the project site of 355 Centennial Olympic Park Dr. for $3.8 million in March of 2019, is listed in project plans alongside the Houston address of investment and development company HarDam Hotels.

The 0.81-acre project site is just south of the new 17-story Generation Atlanta apartment building on the east side of Centennial Olympic Park Drive, less than half-a-mile northeast of Centennial Olympic Park.

In the summer of 2019, a venture involving Centennial Olympic Park Lodging Associates LLC,  Dion Meltzer of Meltzer Properties, and David Barrett of BA Barrett Construction had plans for a 10-story, 138-room Candlewood Suites, a hotel chain within the InterContinental Hotels Group, What Now Atlanta reported. Earlier this year, Barrett told What Now Atlanta that that project had fallen victim to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Designed by Niles Bolton Associates, plans for the new project call for about 200,000 square feet of floor area, including 4,455-square feet of retail. The hotel would provide 194 parking spaces in a four-story parking garage accessible from the northwest corner of the site.

HarDam Hotels didn’t respond to request for comment.

The new Marriott hotel would also include almost 19,000 square feet of open space that includes an approximately 8,000-square-foot rooftop deck, plans show.
