Kroger grocery stores offer some fast casual options such as prepared salads, as well as featuring a deli area that sells items like lunchmeat and cheese by the slice in addition to cooked, ready to eat fried and rotisserie style chicken. The remodeling investment news comes on the heels of the news reported by What Now Columbus last fall that the grocery store chain announced a 123,000 square foot Kroger Marketplace in Jerome Village, which will cost $38 million to build and is slated to open by the end of 2024. The Marketplace store will feature some prepared fast casual food choices that include sushi.

Kroger opened in 1883 when Barney Kroger invested his life savings of $372 to open a grocery store in Cincinnati’s downtown area, according to information on the chain’s website. Today, the company is one of the world’s largest retailers, with 2,800 stores in 35 states, per information found on its website.

The stores that are scheduled to be remodeled this year are as follows: 2474 Stringtown Rd, in Grove City; 3588 Gender Rd, in Canal Winchester; 1585 Georgesville Rd, in Columbus; 7833 Refugee Rd, in Pickerington; 1045 Hill Rd N, in Pickerington; 801 N Houk Rd, in Delaware; 7345 State Route 3, in Westerville; 6011 Groveport Rd, in Groveport; 1425 Worthington Center, in Worthington; 910 Hebron Rd, in Heath; 600 E Main St, in Hebron.
